alright...off to the suburbs. *shudder*

i need to get some furniture shopping done...and seriously. despite the fact that i'm not in college anymore, i still am of the opinion that ikea rocks. i mean...dressers, desks, bookcases, and swedish meatballs all in one place? sign me up!

this also means a long, relaxing journey on public transit. the store is in schaumburg...it's an hour and a half on trains and buses each way, so that will give me lots of time to read more of the awesome new book i picked up at HOPE and haven't had the chance to read much of yet.

Ikea:
Just some oak and some pine and a handful of Norsemen.
Ikea:
Selling furniture for college kids and divorced men.
Everyone has a home,
And if you don't have a home
You can buy one there!

i'd say that song was *not* ringing in my head all day today...but then i'd be lying. ;)

Ikea love. They're definitely responsible for our glorified futon, dining room table (via Craigslist), weird silverware, shower curtain...wait, basically everything except the Risk board coffee table.

I thought you'd like that! It was custom made by Tyler's uncle--Ty won the board playing Risk at GenCon two years ago.

And you will be in my neck of the woods...seeing as though I live in Schaumburg. Enjoy!

i didn't know you lived there!

i wasn't there for long, really...i think i was in the store for an hour and a half, tops...compared to the four hours i spent on public transit, ha. still...the trolley around the woodfield area made it totally worth it.

How did you (or did you intend to) get everything you bought back???

Did not know that. I've taken so many friends there just because I have a bigger car! :-)

yep! it's not free by any means...it was $89 to ship it, and then i have to pay another $30 to have them hold it until i get back from Idaho, because they weren't going to be able to deliver it until tomorrow. [i'm leaving today]. but, it's still not absurdly expensive, and my one friend with a car does not have one big enough to drive my furniture back.
