jerry falwell
May. 15th, 2007 08:27 pmi shouldn't take any happiness about jerry falwell being dead...and yet i can't help it. it makes me a bad person, even to be happy that a bad person is gone, never again to spiritually torture people...but there i go. i'm happy. i'm happy he's dead. and, if he's right and there's a fiery, burning, eternal hell...i hope he's in it.

Date: 2007-05-16 01:41 am (UTC)OH YES. I WENT THERE. But seriously. I realize they're not the same type of person, but spiritual and political terrorism isn't a good thing either. He's built up a good sized group of followers who are going to carry on doing what he tried to do. Kind of like executing Saddam got rid of a bad guy, and made room for more bad guys to take over what he was doing.
I'm sure there's some Old Testament verse about rejoicing when God smiteth thine enemies. Those folks LOOOOVE quoting the OT. And by blaming me and people I generally associate with for September 11, well... I'm pretty sure he was no friend to me. I'm just not going to use the Old Testament as a crutch and an excuse to get my agenda across.

The world is better off without him than with him. He had 73 years on the planet, and he used them to make the lives of others worse.
His death is a happy occasion.
