moot court sucks, i'm nowhere near where i need to be on it, and as a result, i'm not sleeping tonight. i was going to get work done on it yesterday, but i had trial team until after 11pm. i just crashed after that.

but, in better news...i tried out for barely legal (the law school show/musical) yesterday! i hope i make it...that would be so much fun to sing and act. it would be such a great outlet, compared to ::shudder:: law school. i think i did pretty well, and i think i surprised the judges because none of them knew i could sing. :) i guess we'll see how it went when they post the cast list, right?

two days until that moot court brief is out of my hair. thank goodness.
three days until barrister's, when i get to wear my shiny dress, drink a lot of cocktails, and watch the drama unfold! yay!

I was pretty excited about my audition too, actually... the monologue I did was one of the men's ones, and it was completely goofy, the first few sentences being about the weed, the fish, and the police. I got laughs from most of the room at several points - I don't know if it was the monologue itself, my delivery, the fact that they hadn't had any women do the men's monologues, or some combination of those factors, but I figure if I could make them laugh after they'd been hearing the same monologues over and over for a couple hours, it was a good sign. And then I sang "Like A Prayer" and had them all snapping along to the beat (of course, after last year they all knew I could sing). Even if I don't get cast, it was fun.

Are they posting a cast list? Last year the directors hung around and hashed out who was casting whom after auditions, exchanged a few emails to iron out the last casting conflicts, and then sent emails to our casts to let them know they'd been cast. They may be doing it differently this year - I hadn't heard.

i have no idea how they're doing casting this year. they didn't tell us before auditions...i hope they iron that out soon, 'cause i want to know. :)
